Maintenance for the Dodge Hellcat
Oil, filters, spark plugs, batteries, and the routine service parts that keep your Hellcat running strong, pull after pull.
0 parts
Two things make Hellcat maintenance different from ordinary V8 servicing: the oil specification is not negotiable, and there is a second coolant loop that a lot of owners never learn about until it causes a problem. Get those two right and the rest of the schedule is unremarkable.

How to choose maintenance for a Hellcat
The oil spec is a spec, not a suggestion
The supercharged 6.2 calls for full-synthetic 0W-40 meeting Chrysler MS-12633, and the sump takes roughly seven quarts with a filter. The 40-weight is there to hold a film under boost and heat; substituting a thinner grade to chase economy is a false saving on this engine. Confirm capacity against your own model-year manual.
Service the intercooler loop, not just the radiator
The charge-air circuit is a separate cooling system with its own coolant and its own pump. It is the loop that governs how the car behaves on repeat runs, and it is the one most likely to have been ignored on a used purchase.
Plugs are a boost decision on a tuned car
A stock-tune Hellcat takes the factory plug. A car making more boost may want a colder heat range and a tighter gap. Buy plugs against your tune, not against the parts-store lookup.
Flush brake fluid before you need it
Fluid absorbs moisture and drops its boiling point over time, and a car that carries this much speed finds that limit quickly. A flush is cheap, routine, and the difference between a firm pedal and a long one on the third hard stop.
Fitment checkpoints
- Filters, plugs, and belts follow the engine, so they generally cross between the Challenger and Charger of the same year — confirm by year rather than by body.
- The battery is not under the hood on these cars. Order and access accordingly.
- Fluids for the differential and transmission are specification items; match the spec called out for your model year rather than a generic equivalent.
- Consumables are the category where Amazon is genuinely the fast, cheap answer — this is the shelf to buy new.
